As part of a cross-curricular initiative involving the English and Computing Departments at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, Year 9 girls have been involved in the BBC School Report project during March 2016. The girls, who worked in Francis Holland House teams, have been busy researching, writing, filming and editing news-based reports on a range of subjects, from school-based items to stories in the national and international news agenda. In participating in School Report, the girls have honed multiple skills, from research and analysis to those within literacy and ICT. About

Francis Holland School English and Computing collaboration.

  • 2015

    Our Humble Beginnings

Francis Holland School takes part in the BBC school report for the first time. Students write their reports as PDF's and they are uploaded to the school website.

  • 2016

    Gathering Momentum

We run the School report for a second year with an updated website. This time the students write the web pages themselves using the HTML and CSS skills they've learned in Computing.

  • The Future

    Who knows what's next?

Looking forward to a continuing collaboration, with students seeing the impact of their work.
